Mobile Marketing

Using the Profiler campaign type, campaign managers can have Smash automatically update profile of the mobile user based on the subscriber’s service usage. The stored service usage information can be used for targeting purposes or to control the delivery of messages. Services built with the help of the Profiler campaign can be either SMS- or web-based.

The campaign wizards take the user step by step through the campaign creation process, allowing the user to retrace his/her steps and modify his/her actions as they go along. Smash offers the following wizards:

* Timer — which is used to create campaigns in which the campaign manager defines the time of the delivery in advance

* Service Driven — which is used to create campaigns where advertising is connected to usage of the service being sponsored. These campaigns are connected to a service and the audience is the mobile users using the service

* User Request — which is used to create campaigns where a user asks for the advertising from Smash. These campaigns are run in connection with other media, such as the web, TV or newspapers, from where users are guided to call for more commercial information on mobile media

* Profiler — which updates automatically mobile user profiles. It tracks for a keyword from SMS or HTTP requests. When the keyword is met, the Profiler updates the profile as defined by the campaign manager by creating, changing, increasing or decreasing the value of a profile attribute

* Right On Time

* HTTP

* HTTP Profiler

In Smash, the content delivery can be launched in the following ways:

* Timer — Smash has various timers to define the moment of launch for message delivery. The timers can be set to start, for example, daily at 5pm, or weekly every Monday at 5pm

* Remote Launch — Smash can be prepared for remote launch. After receiving a valid message from a valid source, a delivery can be triggered. This allows for timing delivery to real-time events such as the end of a soccer game. The MSISDN or HTTP request from where the remote launch is accepted needs to be defined in Smash

* External Service Request — a typical scheme for a sponsored mobile service is that when a mobile user receives information from the service, he/she also receives an advertisement, either appended to the service content or as a separate message. An authenticated external service or application can ask Smash to deliver the content to a mobile user

* Mobile User Request — Smash has a mechanism whereby a mobile user sends a message to Smash, which replies with advertising content. In addition, the mobile user can request a content delivery from a web page that is linked to Smash.

Smash supports a number of different mobile advertisement types. Supported mobile content and advertising types include: SMS text, SMS flash text, picture message, operator logo, caller group graphics, mobile postcard, ringtones, WAP text, WAP link, wireless bitmaps (WBMP), EMS and MMS.
