Prepaid Phones in Poland

Era is Poland’s biggest operator by far and has the largest prepaid proportion. But Centertel is the fastest growing operator with 93.6% growth in 2000 and 23% market share. Its prepaid service POP offers a number of innovative services, these include:
* SMS (the only Polish operator to do this for prepaid)
* discounted rates of 30% on three selected numbers
* three different POP cards.
However, POP had just 150,000 prepaid users, 10% of its total base, at end-2000.
