Mobile Marketing Systems Monitoring
Sat, Apr 4, 2009
A number of considerations have to be made when planning the deployment of the mobile marketing software. These considerations affect the overall availability and resilience to failure of the solution. The elements to be considered are:
* database disks
* number of servers (database, application or gateway) and the presence of stand-by machines
* number of connections from the SMS gateway to the different operators and aggregators
* list of remaining single points of failure and standard procedures for each of them.
A requirement will be the support of a command-line tool that allows the integration of the solution within a larger network management system. As a complement, the solution will support SNMP–the vendor should indicate a list of supported network management systems.
On the security side, the requirement is to support multi-level security in order to support user hierarchies and protect work from other users. We mentioned a requirement related to the management of resources via the presence of resource views that indicate demand and possibly over-allocation of infrastructure components, such as the SMS gateway or IVR servers. This view may be restricted to administrators, which is why that requirement is again stated here.
