Mobile Marketing

The central components of the Mobicus server are the Management Interface, Presentation Layer and the Mobicus Core Engine.

Campaign managers can design and manage mobile marketing campaigns using the Management Interface. The Management Interface comprises a Java applet and HTML pages. It communicates with the Mobicus server using the HTTP protocol.

All client requests pass through the Presentation Layer. The messaging system of Mobicus has a capacity for handling incoming and outgoing messages in the range of hundreds of messages per second per instance. The Presentation Layer connects Mobicus to the SMS gateway and, optionally, can be used for interfacing with customer-care and self-care interfaces.

The logic of the Mobicus application and the configuration settings of marketing campaigns are stored in the Mobicus Core Engine. The Core Engine also presides over the management of database transactions. The Core Engine has interfaces that allow the synchronisation of customer profiles with external systems.

All customer, content and campaign data is stored in the Mobicus database. The database can optionally be configured to support UTF-8 character encoding, which allows the storage of double-byte character sets that are used, for example, in the Chinese, Arabic and Japanese languages.

The Mobicus mobile marketing system is built on the Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) platform. Supported hardware platforms and operating systems are HP, Sun and Linux. Mobicus uses a Java interface (JDBC), which allows access to most commercial database systems.

The Mobicus system supports an ASP deployment having the support of secure communication, multiple user accounts and user roles. Support of multiple customer registers per instance isolates the user data and ensures that users in an organisation will only see the customer and campaign data that has been assigned to them.
