Mobile Banking

* Mobey Forum–launched in May 2000, it is a collective of financial institutions and leading handset manufacturers. Founding members include ABN Amro, Deutsche Bank, Merita NordBanken as well as VISA, Ericsson, Motorola and Nokia. The Forum is working with standardisation bodies in both the mobile and financial services industries, and aims to guarantee interoperability within mobile finance that will procure dependable m-commerce business models

* MeT Initiative–launched in April 2000 as a partnership between handset manufacturers Ericsson, Motorola and Nokia in order to provide a common industry framework for m-commerce. Siemens joined in October 2000. Acknowledging existing standards such as WAP, WIM, PKI and Bluetooth, MeT is cooperating with other players in the value chain–operators, banks and payment organisations

* Radicchio–a global body committed to the development of secure m-commerce and the promotion of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). Although PKI is already a robust solution for fixed line internet, the processing power and limitations of mobile devices necessitate a different approach. Radicchio aims to tackle issues surrounding cryptography, data protection and content liability at both a national and international level.
